Certification Examination for Energy Managers/Energy
Auditors - postponed to 22-23 rd May, 2004
(Saturday & Sunday)
The National Certification Examination for Energy Managers/Energy Auditors
scheduled for 24 th & 25 th April 2004 has been postponed to 22-23rd
May, 2004 (Saturday & Sunday) in view of the forthcoming Parliamentary
General Elections for Lok Sabha and the large number of requests received
from a number of government organisations, as their candidates will be
actively engaged in the election process and hence will not be in a position
to prepare and/or appear in the examination.
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency will not entertain any request for refund
of examination fee due to above change in the schedule for the conduct
of examination, as the same was beyond the control of BEE.

BEE
formulates draft regulations
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency had formulated the following draft
Regulations under section 58 (2) of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001
(52 of 2001) and forwarded the same to Ministry of Power for the Central
Government approval.
1 Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Meetings of the Governing Council) Regulation,
2003.
2 Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Advisory Committee) Regulation, 2003
The above Regulations shall be adopted by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency
after approval of the Central Government and previous publication in
the Gazette of India.

formulates draft rules
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency has sent to the Ministry of Power the
draft of the following rules under sub-section 5 of section 4 of the
Energy Conservation Act, 2003 for concurrence of the Central Government.
1 Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Fee and Allowances payable to members
of the Government council and produces for discharge of their function)
Rules 2003.
The above rules shall be published in the Gazette of India Part II, section-3,
sub-section (i) after the same has received the approval of the Central
Government.

for the appointment and other terms and conditions
of service of the Director–General
The Central Government has made rules for regulating the appointment
and other terms and conditions of service of the Director–General of
the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, a statutory body established under section
3 of the Energy conservation Act, 2001 (52 of 2001). These Rules were
published in the Gazette of India under G.S.R 761(E) Part II section
3 sub-sections (i) on 24th September, 2003
