The HP stripper in Urea plant has been replaced with a stripper having better metallurgy then the earlier on. Since this stripper works under a very corrosive atmosphere thinning of tubes occurs on a regular basis therefore these stroppers have a certain life. The earlier stripper having titarium tubes was installed in 1991 and it had consumed its life. Due to this many operation related problems were being faced. It was causing limitation in increasing the plant load and also due to poor heat transfer steam consumption was high.(click here)
