Specific data about performance and energy consumption of designated consumers under the Energy Conservation Act is difficult to obtain. Data integrity is questionable and comprehensive data is not available. Nevertheless BEE is making efforts to classify designated consumers based on several criteria. These criteria play an important role with respect to the allocation efficient budgeting of BEE’s financial and human resources in support of energy efficiency in these sectors.

A first order exercise was initiated under Indo-German Energy Programme, results of which are at table.We are encouraging members of these sectors to provide us better figures and will honor each improvement figure with a prize of 3,000 to 5,000 Rupees depending on our judgment. However a reference must be given why the proposed new figure is an improvement over the published figures.
