Awareness Programme for Schools on Energy
Conservation & Environment
The ongoing activity in respect of ‘National
Campaign on Energy Conservation_2005’ launched
by Prime
Minister of India on 14th Dec.2004 on the eve
of National Energy Conservation Day. The scheduled
activity for the Sept.-2005 had been taken for
School Children of Sanchar Vihar (Colony Campus)
i.e. St. Michael Convent School, Dayanand Adarsh
Vidyalaya Intermediate College & Central
School on dated 22 – 24 Sept.2005 in the school
premises.
The Senior students of Class 09th – 12th had
participated in the events.
The various aspects of Energy Conservation had
been shown to the participants to safeguard the
scare energy resources in the interest of individual
and nation interest. The slides presentation of
‘How to save the Energy in our daily life? ’. The
film “Save Bijali” was shown on the occasion, which
was most liked by students.
The general awareness among students have an impressive
look and practicing procedures. The students shown
their curiosity for participating in such events

Principals and teachers, Manager (Electrical) along
with Energy Conservation Team.
2. National Thermal Power Corporation
NTPC has carried out several activities at their
various plants.
i. Kahagaon Thermal Power Station
Energy Conservation Awareness Programme was conducted on 22nd September 2005
for housewives and employees.
ii. Ramagundam Thermal Power Station
An In-house programme on Energy Conservation awareness was conducted at Employee
Development Center on 24th September 2005 among employees. Similar programme
for housewives was conducted in Deepti Ladies Club on 24th September 2005.Pamphlets
on the Energy Conservation tips were distributed
iii. Kayamkulam Gas Power Station
An Awareness Programme for Kendriya Vidyalaya students was organised in the township
and three hundred students participated in this event.
iv. Dadri Gas Power Station
A programme on Energy conservation awareness was organised among employees in
the last week of September 2005. The saving tips and some household gadget
power consumption data were distributed.
3. Hindalco Industries Limited
In line with the objective of top management,
Shri Ratan K.Shah (COO) & Shri R.P.Shah (CMO)
to improve energy efficiency and spread awareness
about energy conservation; have proactively organized
a painting competition. The approach was made
to almost all the schools of the township for
participation of their students of class IV & V
as per the invitation of the Bureau of Energy
Efficiency (Ministry of Power, Government of
India). Following schools of the township had
conducted the painting competition in their schools.
1. Aditya Birla Public School, Renukoot
2. Nirmala Convent High School, Renukoot
3. Keshari Devi Kanoria Vidya Mandir, Renukoot
4. Hindalco Primary Schol Unit-1
5. Hindalco Primary Schol Unit-2
Prior to conducting the competition, Mr.Parijat
Pandey & Mr.R.Y Pathak had interacted with
the students of class IV & V of all schools
and talked about the need of Energy Conservation,
how to save energy at home and also distributed
a leaflet containing different practices to be
adopted at home to conserve the energy. In this
meet approx 2500 students of different schools
have participated and gained the knowledge about
Energy & Energy conservation.
Also the Principals of schools are approached
for providing the best paintings of their schools.
15 paintings have been chosen to display at Energy
Conservation Awareness Program organized on 25th
September 2005 by our Lions Club and Hindalco
jointly at their auditorium. Out of 15 paintings,
3 top best painting are selected by the panel
of judges and awarded during the awareness program.
All the remaining 12 paintings have been also
awarded by giving an energy efficient CFL.
