HINDUSTAN PAPER CORPORATION LIMITED
The following activities were organised by M/s Hindustan
Paper Corporation Limited.
1) Awareness campaign on “Energy
Conservation” among the children of Class VII & VIII
of HPC High School, Kagajnagar, Morigaon, Assam
on 13-06-2005
which was conducted by Sh. M.R.Mathur, manager
(mechanical-Recovery). The programme was attended
by 82 students in two batches and the programme
was rated quite beneficial for their day to day
life.
2) A Training programme on Energy Conservation
for Contractor Labours was conducted on 15-06-2005
by Sr. Plant Engineer (Utilities) Sh. P.K.Chanda
covering details of classification of Energy;
Primary Energy & Secondary Energy; Commercial & Non-Commercial
Energy renewable & Non-Renewable Energy; Energy
reserve; Global Energy conservation; Effect of
burning fossil fuel; Energy Conservation etc. Also
discussion about the Energy Conservation at grass
root level like by labours & contractors were
discussed. The programme was attended by 12 contractor
labours of various section engaged in the mill
which was rated as quite beneficial to work & self
development.
EXCEL INDUSTRIES LIMITED
A programme on “Energy Conservation at Home”
was conducted for the students of 10th & 12th
standard of the local school on 23rd June 2005.
About 200 students participated enthusiastically
in the programme. After the programme, the quiz
about the subject was conducted and top 5 students
were felicitated with the prizes from Maharashtra
Energy Development Agency and Excel Industries
Ltd., Roha.
Same day in the afternoon, Excel Industries Ltd.,
Roha had arranged an interactive session for the
members of Roha Industries Association and Maharashtra
Energy Development Agency (MEDA). MEDA authorities
explained the Energy Scenario in India, details
of Energy Conservation Act 2001.
Also, two empanelled Energy Auditors Delivered
the expertise on the subject during the session.
About 15 managers and 25 senior engineers from
different industries have participated in the session.
Plantation of Jetropha saplings (500nos.) was
conducted on World Environment Day. And demonstrate
the plantation to nearby farmers and encourage
them to cultivate the Jetropha plantation on waste
lands. Necessary help for saplings and soil enrichment
is also planned. Simultaneously experiments on
bio-diesel production from Jetropha seeds are also
planned which will enable to explain the economy
behind it to nearby farmers.
