NATIONAL THERMAL POWER CORPORATION LIMITED (NTPC)

Looking at the demand and supply of the Energy in today’s world, Energy conservation forms a major part of our responsibility towards the future generation. Today’s school children will be the leading torchbearers of the Energy Conservation in coming years; hence promoting energy conservation amongst the students is one of the primary goal. Auriya Gas power station in its endeavor for promoting the energy conservation awareness amongst the school children & Housewives conducted some Energy Conservation awareness programs.
The various programs conducted were as follows:

1. Awareness program for the school children.
Faculty from the Feroz Gandhi Unchar power project & M/a GAIL Ltd were invited on the occasion to deliver a talk amongst the school children. Twenty students each from the Central school & St. Joseph School nominated by the respective school principals attended the discussion. The discussion consisted of the presentations by the Faculty members followed by the question & answer session. Energy conservation awareness handouts consisting of the energy saving tips & procedures were distributed amongst the participants.

2) Plant visit of the School Children.

Plant visit for twenty students each from the Central school & St. Joseph School nominated by the respective school principals was carried out. Engineers were associated with the small groups of the children for explanation about the plant to the students.

3) Awareness program for the Housewives & Ladies of AuGPS.

Awareness program for the Housewives & Ladies of the AuGPS was carried out in the Mahila Jagriti Mandal in the Premises of the AuGPS township. Faculty from the Feroz Gandhi Unchar power project & M/a GAIL Ltd were invited on the occasion to deliver a talk amongst the Ladies. The discussion consisted of the presentation by the Faculty members followed by the question & answer session. Energy conservation awareness handouts consisting of the energy saving tips & procedures were distributed amongst the participants.

A quiz related to the Energy Conservation awareness was also organised amongst the Ladies. Participants answering were honored with the prizes


CENTRAL POWER RESEARCH INSTITUTE

The Energy Conservation & Development Division has made display board and posters on Energy Conservation and displayed them in all the laboratories of the Institute.

Shri.M.Siddartha Bhatt, Joint Director delivered following three lectures during Workshop on Best Practices in Energy Conservation in Industries organised by ERC, CPRI, Thiruvananthpuram.

1. Best Practices in Energy Conservation in Buildings.
2. Best Practices in Pumps and Fans.
3. Best Practices in Energy Conservation in CHP Systems.

Shri.M.Siddartha Bhatt. Joint Director and Shri.R.P.Mandi, Engg.Officer delivered following invited lectures during the Program on Energy Audit and Conservation in Industries organized by PSTI, Bangalore.

Energy Conservation in Electrical Systems and Instrumentations.
